perfect solution to add padding for quickies, or 'social rides'.
Me: 5'9" 150lbs, 30" waist. avg proportions. ordered a medium, fit perfectly.Ok, so here's the deal with these:If you're expecting these to be 'century-day' padding, or "all-day epic" comfy, you're gonna have a bad time. I don't think Canari intended that, and they won't work (most likely) for that. These liners work awesome for anyone looking to add some padding to non-padded baggies, or turn street clothes into riding clothes. They fit great, are comfortable, breathe well and thanks to the small padding, aren't obtrusive for all day wear. These are my go-to's for weekly 1-2 hr night rides, and did great for a "Tour-de-Brew" thing I did with friends recently where we basically rode our mountain bikes from brewery to brewery using all the trails we could within Phoenix. It lasted like 6 hours, and about half that was riding, but I was comfortable both riding and chilling, and didn't have to be stuck in a 'kit' all day.Anything longer than about 3 hours of continuous "real" riding and I'd be looking to get into some quality lycra. I've worn these a 3-hour "real" ride and was getting fairly saddle sore in the last 30-40 mins. All that said, I'll probably buy a 2nd one because I seem to wear these frequently enough that they're always in the laundry hamper.

Really comfortable, super durable, and great in hot weather here in So Cal. I ride every day and just dry / air them out on a hanger between wearings. So I don't wash them that often (don't know where that review came from...), they go in the wash with the other elastic sport stuff once a week and air dry- no dryer. My last pair lasted a year like that (maybe 3000 miles) and just have a small hole in them now. The pad is just right for my sit-bones but it's like saddles: "your individual butt may vary." An excellent product at a fair price.
I'm a big guy and have a 39" waist and the XL fit me perfectly. Not too snug and can you can wear them all day- but take them off immediately after rides or you run serious risk of jungle rot- they don't "breathe" too much.

These are a big help. I'm a fairly new rider at least on a regular basis. I recently upgraded my Schwann Admiral big box store 7-speed cruiser to a Cannondale Quick 24 speed hybrid and have been riding 10+ miles per session nearly daily. The seat on my Quick is not as comfortable as my cruiser and I can feel it after about 10 miles. First time I wore these I rode 16 miles. I bought 2 pair and rotate them. I don't ride now without them. They are comfortable, fit great and the leg stays work just like they should. The gel padding is just enough to ride comfortably. I thought the fit was true.

I've had gel-padded bicycle shorts before. I've had gel-padded gloves. I've had a gel-padded seat cover. I'm holding these shorts in my hands right now, and the padding does not feel like gel at all. It feels like foam rubber, almost like neoprene. It has little 'bounce' or elasticity, is rather thin for my taste, and does not 'glide' like a true gel pad. When sitting down on the bike seat, the pad compresses and loses much of the cushioning effect.

I will grant that the padding in these shorts is better than no padding at all, but it simply does not compare to a true gel pad.

Aside from the issue of 'is it gel or not', the shorts are fairly good quality, fit well, and are reasonably comfortable.

Now, for the money, these seem to be pretty good. I have better liners but these aren't bad. The best review I can give is on my first ride I didn't even think about them until the ride was over and it hit me there was nothing noticeable. No pains, no rubbing, no chaffing, nothing to call home about. They were comfortable and provided good padding. I haven't done any longer rides in these yet but I think they will be fine for a few hours of mountain biking. I previously had bought and off brand that was terrible and I spent the whole ride wishing I had something else on. I may go ahead and buy another pair of these. Fit was fine for me. I usually buy a 36 waist pair of MTB shorts.

Had a pair of these Canari liners for 3 years now. I always use them under my regular padded cycling shorts. They just became a part of my cycling gear. Makes no difference (to me) if it's a 25 mile ride or a Century ride. I find no restriction or obstruction wearing the liner under my regular cycling shorts or bibs. I love the extra padding you can get from these. And if you're wondering about durability: I've riden over 3000 miles using them. Now after 3 years of use and washings they are starting to weare out in one spot... time to get another pair. There worth every penny.

The gel pad on my size large shorts measures 8 inches long and 1.5 inches wide at the front part under the crotch. This is not wide enough for me. Also, I generally wear size Large shorts, but this one's size Large was very around the legs at the bottom. I should have gotten XL. The shorts fabric was light and comfortable.

For comparison, the Pearl Izumi Men's Liner Short has a pad 13 inches long and 4 inches wide at the crotch (it is not a gel pad). Much more comfortable for me.

These are excellent, so much so that I ordered two more. I wear these to commute. Much better than wearing my regular tight biking shorts under baggy shorts or insulated tights in the winter. Just tight enough to hold everything in place, but not be overly constricting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buenas licras
Reviewed in Mexico on July 21, 2017
